"I see myself as a storyteller and enjoy choosing themes and characters from previous paintings and placing them in new storylines and scenarios. In this instance I have taken the two children from 'Man of Snow' and tried to capture the atmosphere of a cold blustery day, filled with happy memories of playing outside. The red kite forms a metaphor for the journey from childhood, with the hopes and aspirations we all have for both ourselves and our loved ones.
