Jonathan the son of Irish parents was born in Liverpool in 1945. It was apparent in his early years that Jonathan was naturally skilled in drawing and art in general.

He trained at Art School in the North of England before travelling and working in Europe and Asia before settling in Scotland where his gift for painting developed, applying his skills and developing his perfect technique. Following various successful exhibitions his work became much in demand. 

His slightly impressionistic style is now well recognised and he sells work in galleries all over the country, although he has a distinctive style of his own, endeavouring to create a pleasing and clear statement with emphasis on light and colour. 

His future is assured. He is now established as a first class artist whose painting can be found in private and public collections in places as far as the Middle East, West Africa across the Atlantic in Ontario, Canada and the United States of America.
