I wanted to capture the unconditional love of a parent and child but paint it to remind me of my own childhood. The warmth between the two characters is real. The intimacy of the pose shows that this is a special moment and at some point childhood leaves us and the comfort toy is discarded, but the memory of this special bond remains.
