Paul was born in Birmingham in 1958 and quickly developed a love for drawing and painting. He studied Life Drawing and History of Art at Bournville School of Art and was awarded a Certificate of Merit in 1976 by the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists. Paul lists Degas and Chagall amongst his influences, and claims his current style was inspired by puppets and marionettes he found in a storeroom at the Midland Art Centre – the figures in his work used to have strings attached to them. Each of Paul's works begins life as a sketch before being embellished with high quality pastels and a delicate touch. Paul Horton originals have become incredibly sought after and have secured him a number of ardent collectors eager to get their hands on his next creation.
