Dashiel displayed an exceptional interest and flair for drawing and painting from a very early age. By the age of twelve he was teaching his school friends the concept of light and shade to bring their own drawings to life. Recognising her nephews ability, aunt Daisy presented Dashiel with a book for his thirteenth birthday, hence an artist was born. The book provided him with both direction and inspiration and he began teaching himself to paint using oils on canvas. Dashiel soon began exhibiting his work and selling his paintings to local galleries.

Dashiel's latest work captures the mood, drama and diversity of urban life. He has an extraordinary ability to capture and convey the romance of everyday life, which we often fail to see for ourselves. His narrative and careful use of colour, texture and light draw us into the painting.

"Creating atmosphere is a concept I love to explore in my paintings. I enjoy the physical aspect of drawing and painting with mixed mediums, and building up the image in layers to add depth and texture"
